INPUT 2002 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands
From the INPUT Catalogue, Rotterdam 2006: Peter Dirks, President INPUT 2002 Rotterdam:
"Welcome to INPUT 2002! For the first time since its inception in 1977 INPUT is to be held in the Netherlands. The history of our small country shows our international aspirations, with its positive and negative aspects.
Last year in Cape Town we were confronted with some parts of that past and in particular with the impressive way freedom and humanity can strengthen a society to overcome dark episodes. Both values: freedom and humanity, are fundamental for the position and tasks of public broadcasting. INPUT offers producers, directors, journalists and programme-makers from all over the world a platform to discuss their profession against this background. We are very proud that INPUT celebrates its 25th anniversary here in Rotterdam and we believe this place is a good choice for this jubilee."
