INPUT 1990 - Dublin, ireland

"Dublin was yet another remarkable example of INPUT's penchant for living on the edge. INPUT 1991 very nearly didn't come off, at least, not in Dublin. A scant eight months before the conference was to open, Ted Dolan, serving as conference coordinator for RTE (the Irish public broadcaster), was told that the host organisation didn't have the money to pull it off. Ted dutifully notified the INPUT Board that it might not happen - then determinedly set about to see that it did happen. After pressure was brought to bear upon RTE by Ted and others, a compromise was reached: part of the conference cost would be met with in-kind services rather than cash. RTE was back as the host organisation."
