INPUT 2007 - Lugano, Switzerland
In May 2007 INPUT went back to its roots.
The idea for INPUT as a forum to promote excellence in public broadcasting was born in 1977 in Bellagio, Italy.
Thirty years later the conference took place just a few kilometres away on the shores of Lake Lugano under the motto of: New Dynamics for Public Television.
The approx 900 participants enjoyed a perfectly well organized event, in a friendly atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings of a small but very cosmopolitan town. The selection of the programmes done by the Shop Stewards with the skilfully coordination of Pat van Heerden was unanimously considered to be innovative and challenging which was the precondition for the good and controversial discussions that followed. The evening panels from Public Service Broadcasters and New Media to Citizen Journalism - A Challenge to Public Media were very well attended but no doubt the most popular was the one dedicated…to The Most Popular Programmes.
The Midweek Party mixed the traditional flair of the alpine horn paired with the contemporary interpretation of Eliane Bürki , a buffet of local, Italian and International dishes, the astounding beauty of the show of aerial views of Switzerland and a very sweet Chocolate Corner. An impromptu cabaret, performed by our guest Agus Nur Amal from Indonesia, kept everyone in stitches, whilst dancing lasted until the wee hours.
INPUT 2007 is financed by Swiss radio and television SRG SSR idée suisse and by the Italian language broadcaster RTSI with the contribution of various sponsors.
